The Lindéngruppen company Colart establishes a pioneering partnership with international recycling leader TerraCycle® to launch the Liquitex and Winsor & Newton Free Recycling Program in the United States. This initiative provides artists with a way to recycle traditionally unrecyclable materials, such as used paint tubes and marker pens.

For generations, Winsor & Newton and Liquitex have supported artists with materials of the highest quality. Now, that commitment extends beyond creation to care for the environment. Through this program, artists can return their used Winsor & Newton and Liquitex products, knowing they will be recycled into materials that can be used to make new items – like outdoor furniture and storage containers.

“We are thrilled to partner with TerraCycle on this important recycling initiative,” says Sarah Clark, VP Marketing at Colart. “This program not only helps artists responsibly dispose of their used materials but also aligns with our commitment to a more sustainable future for creativity.”

Steve Chamberlin, General Manager at Colart, added: “This partnership with TerraCycle is a significant step towards closing the loop on our materials. By providing artists with a responsible solution for end-of-life products, we are taking meaningful action to reduce waste and promote sustainability in the art community.”

Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO of TerraCycle, offered: “Used art supplies, like paint tubes and markers, typically end up in landfills because they’re difficult to recycle through conventional systems. By working with Winsor & Newton and Liquitex, we are making it easier for artists to manage this waste responsibly supporting both creativity and environmental progress.”
